Yes, you are legally responsible for paying for the full month. I assume that you pay on the first of each monht. If that is the case, you are liable for the remaining 2 weeks of rent. By law, notice is to be given 30 days prior to when rent is due; not 30 days prior to when you move out.
Failure to pay can result in your being sued in small claims court and your Landlord obtaining a judgement against you. It will be for the amount of the rent still owed plus court costs (fining fees, etc). Additionally, your credit report could be adversely effected.
