Do I have to give my employer a detailed info about a doctor’s office visit?
I am a union employee. My non-union boss just told me that when I take sick leave that I not only need a doctors excuse for every day taken but also something saying why I was at the doctor and what the treatment was before they will pay for my sick days which I earned through the union. Legal or not?

Under the laws of all states, so long as you have a doctor's excuse with respect to the time off from work for medical treatment you do not have to give detailed reasons for the visit. You just need to state the date and time for the visit and have it signed by the doctor. Nothing more. Anything more requested by your employer would be a violation of your right to privacy.
