Electronic signatures can be used to create a binding and enforceable contract: ink signatures or in-person signing is not required. A contract is nothing more than a mutual agreement between two parties, where each party gives or promises the other something of value ("consideration"), such as a promise to pay money in exchange for a promise to get title to and owership of property, and there is something indicating that the two parties both agreed to the terms. The electronic signature evidences ageeement, and so can create an enforceable contract.
