What are my rights if a gas company has a pipeline on my property?
A gas company has a 30 ft pipeline in my backyard. They now claim to have total control over my entire yard, including my house. How can I look up documentation to support or deny their claim? The easement was only documented for no build within 100 feet but now I am not even allowed to any usage for all 300 feet of my property which includes my house.

Your deed: any restrictions on your use of your property (or rights in or for the gas company to use your property) have to be found on your deed. If they are not on your deed, they do not bind you. (Only deed restrictions travel with the property; a given owner, like your predecessor, may have personally extended a license to the gas company conveying rights exceeding those on the deed, but they would not bind you--again, only restrictions on the deed would.) Go to the country clerk's office and look up the deed--that should answer this question.
