Can my landlord pack my personal things and throw me out without an eviction notice?

I am on a month-to-month lease and my roommate-landlord has packed up all of my things from my room and is threatening that I be out by 5 pm today.

It is entirely possible for your landlord to physically pack up your personal belongings and order you out of the rental that you have without the required eviction notice. If he or she does so, then most likely he or she is on violation of your state's statutes on the proper way to evict a tenant. Meaning, a 30 day eviction notice is required to be served upon you.

If the situation escalates, I suggest that you consult with a landlord tenant attorney about the question that you are writing about.
