Yes, your employment can be terminated for this reason. Your employer--in this case, your new manager--has the right to change your schedule at will (unless, that is, you happen to have a written employment which specifies or defines your hours) and does not have to take your needs (i.e. whether or not you can actually work those hours) into account. They can assign you any hours they like, and terminate you if you cannot or will not work them.
