Can my employer hold my check for any reason?
Required to verify hours worked via online access. If i
dont by certain time they say they will hold my check.

An employer does not need to pay an employee until his or her hours are properly entered, logged, verified, etc. So while eventually, you would have to be paid (i.e. if you did the work, you must be paid for it), an employer could delay paying you until you have done the "paperwork" (whether on actual paper or online) for it. Consider: an employer only has to pay you when you do work; they can require that the hours worked be properly documented to make sure they are paying you for the correct time.
