Can my employer force me to work on a Sunday because of missed time during a snowstorm in which the company told us to stay home?

I do home and commercial pest control.
We had a big snow storm in the area
and we’re told to stay home on
Tuesday and wensday. Now they are
telling me I have to go out on Sunday
to make up stops for the month. I’m a
weekend dad and have prior
commitments. Can they fire me?

Does this action violate the terms of any employment contract or union agreement? Does it constitute some form of legally actionable discrimination? If not, then you have no claim here. What many people fail to realize is that most employment is "at will" which means that a company can set the terms of work much as it deems necessary. This includes when and why to have an employee come in to work. In fact, an employer can set schedules and fire as it sees fit. In other words, a worker can be terminated for any reason or no reason at all, with or without notcie.
