Can my boss hold my check for 30 days due to a damage claim by customer?

The business is appliance delivery. No information has been provided in regards to the claim or how to resolve the issue. I also informed him this week I would no longer be working for him.

Not unless you have some employment contract which allows for it.  Final paycheck must be issued no later than then next normal scheduled date for payroll.

Send a written demand for payment under Minn. Stat. 181.  If they fail to pay, you may have a claim for the unpaid wages, penalties and attorney fees.  Discuss with an attorney, there are a number of factors which could change the analysis of this situation.
