Can my attorney drop my case just 2 months before my court date?
I paid a retainer but need more time to come up with the rest of the money. I’m only just a few weeks late with payment.

What you need to do is to check your retainer agreement. As a general rule, they contain a provision regarding non-payment and withdrawal from a case. What most people fail to recognize is that a law firm is just like any business and must be paid in order to obtain its services.
