Can I sue my university if the bed in my form broke and I was hurt?

I’m a college freshman and at the beginning of the year we were told to fill out room inspection. New Link Destination
which I noted that me bed was falling apart and could break any minute. It is now over half way through the year and the bed broke while I was sleep and I suffered a concussion. They never fixed the bed even though I stated it could break. Can I sue and what are the odds of me winning? I have the email that I sent them and the checklist I was told to fill out stating the problem with the bed.

Prior to filing a lawsuit against the university, it may be possible to settle the case with the university's insurance carrier.
Notify the university's insurance carrier in writing that you will be filing a personal injury claim.
When you complete your medical treatment and are released by the doctor or are declared by the doctor to be permanent and stationary, which means having reached a point in your medical treatment where no further improvement is anticipated, obtain your medical bills, medical reports, and if applicable, documentation of wage loss.  Your claim filed with the university's insurance carrier should include those items.
Compensation for the medical bills is straight reimbursement. The medical reports will document your injury and will be used to determine compensation for pain and suffering which is an amount in addition to the medical bills.  Compensation for wage loss is straight reimbursement.
If the case is settled with the university's insurance carrier, NO lawsuit is filed.
If you are dissatisfied with settlement offers from the university's insurance carrier, reject the settlement offers and file a lawsuit for negligence against the university.
If the case is NOT settled, your lawsuit for negligence against the university must be filed prior to the expiration of the applicable statute of limitations or you will lose your rights forever in the matter.
