If there was an agreement between you and the employer, that agreement is enforceable as per its plain terms. If the employer is complying with its obligations under the agreement, you are bound to your obligations, including, for example, a waiver of any prior claims, if such were part of the agreement. If you are unsure of your rights under the agreement, bring it to an attorney to review  with you; the specific language of agreements like this is critical.
