Can I purchase term life insurance on my husband without his consent or knowledge?

I received a wonderfully detailed answer explaining my insurable interest which I very much appreciated. But I’m still wondering about the first part of my question, which was: Can I purchase life insurance on my husband without his consent or knowledge?

So you are already familiar with what an insurable interest is and is not.  Ans so you know that as a spouse you have an insurable interest under the law.  That means that you can indeed purchase life insurance on your husband without his knowledge and consent.  But be careful,  Depending on how much the life insurance policy is that you wish to take out on his life, he may indeed be required to have a physical by the life insurance company.  Then you are going to have his consent and he will most definitely know about it. Then it really will not matter in the end anyway.   Good luck.
