Can I get a felony expunged and what is process?

I received a felony conviction 5 years ago for attempted robbery. I completed all the conditions of probation. I cannot find work and just need someone to give me a chance to prove that I am a good young man and a hard worker. I’m now only 24 and got the felony before my 20th birthday.

First, some felonies are not expungeble. Some, but not all, are: a capital felony; a first degree felony; a violent felony; automobile homicide; and registerable sex offenses. It appears that you were convicted of an expungeable offense.

Second, from the date you were convicted or released from incarceration, parole, or probation, whichever occurred last, a certain amount of time has had to elapse.  In your case, usually, at least 7 years has had to elapse.

Therefore, it appears that you are going to have to wait at least 2 more years before you are eligible to expunge your record.

Hope this helps.
