Can I find out if somebody that I want to take to small claims court already has a wage garnishment against their wages?

You can try running a credit search or also check to see with the registry of deeds to see if there is an existing lien. You can check with the court house in the county in which the defendant resides in the research office to see if there are other judgments against this person.
