Removing a fixture (i.e. a permanently attached item) from a home can give rise to criminal charges; in this instance theft. Thisis because cabinets and the like are part of the home and belong to whoever next owns it. You lose "ownership" at the time that the property is foreclosed.

Yes, you could be charged. The cabinets, etc. are part of the home: they do not belong to you separately from the home. When you lost the home to foreclosure, you lost ownership of the cabinets, etc.: hence you took things belonging to another (i.e. to whomever bought the home in foreclosure) and so committed theft, which is a criminal act.
