Can I cancel my wife’s insurance?

Can I remove my wife’s health and car insurance from my accounts since we are
separated and no longer living together? We will not be able to have our divorce
finalized until January of next year.

I would not do that.  North Carolina suports the Doctrine of Necessities which means that if your wife should become ill and require medical care and she is not covered then you could end up paying for it since technically you are still married.  I would speak to your lawyer about a Separation AGreement or Property Distribution Agreement while you are waiting the year regarding the car and insurance.  That debt could likely be allocated to her if she agrees.  Good luck.
