AL is what is known as a "right to work state. Such a state  prohibits agreements between employers and labor unions which govern the extent to which a union can require worker membership, payment of union dues or fees as a condition of employment, either before or after hiring. Accordingly, you cannot be made to join the union or lose your job if you do not do so.

No, you cannot be forced to join a union because your state, Alabama, is a "right to work" state; state law specifically protects you from not being hired or from losing your job because you do not wish to join the union.
