Can I be fired for my first minor EEOC violation in 20 years of employment?

Someone I worked with who was fired for something unrelated filled an EEOC complaint against me. The complaint was made over a month ago. I have answered questions from my managers and given statements. New Link Destination
day I was told to go home until further notice.

Do you have an employment contract or union agreement that affords you protection under the circumstances. If not, then you are an "at will" worker. This means that your company can set the conditions of the workplace much as it sees fit, absent some form of legally actionable discrimination. This includes when to fire someone and why. In fact, you can be terminated for any reason or no reason at all, with or without notice.
