Can I ask the people were renting from to leave the premises if they rented us the whole premises and not just a room?
I have a month-to-month lease that doesn’t state that they rented us a room but the entire premise. We are renting through people who are renting the property from the landlord. Can we ask them to leave but allow them in for the typical 24 hour notices/to repair/to show to prospective buyers/and to inspect?

If you are on a true sub-lease with the actual tenants of the owner/landlord of the premises that you occupy where you have the entire unit as a sub-lease, under the laws of all states in this country, you are entitled to the premises and not the actual tenants now. You can simply ask your "landlord" to leave the premises with allowance for the typical 24 hour notuce to show the unit and to inspect it. If such does not get the result you want then there is material breach of the sub-lease.
