Can I appeal a Marital Masters decision for child support?

Because of job loss, I was unable to maintain the ex spouses mortgage and the home went into foreclosure. I was to pay this in lieu of child support. Currently I make a considerable amount less money then at the time of divorce. The ex spouse took me back to court for contempt which the marital master ok’d and set a new child support payment that will not allow me to even make a rent payment. Currently the ex spouse makes more money than I do. I take care of my child’s needs but am unable to make the new child support payments and still maintain a place to live.

Under the laws of all states in this country, you have the right to appeal an adverse decision in family law court concerning child support. You have a limited time period to perfect your appeal from notice of the order. The basis for the appeal has to be some error of law or an abuse of discretion.
