Can an employer terminate me for breaking a company policy even though I didn’t know of the policy when I first broke it?
They never actually showed me the policy in writitng that I suppossedly broke?

Actually can they fire you for this reason, any reason or no reason at all. That is unless you are protected by a union agreement or employment contract or if your firing constititutes some form of actionable discrimination. Otherwise, pursuant to an at will employment relationship, your employer can set the terms and conditions of the workplace much as it sees fit. So while it was unprofessional (not to mention unfair) for you not to be informed of company policy, it unfortunately doesn't give any recourse regarding your employer's action.
