Can an employer require that I hand over all my tips, to be picked up at a later date?

I work at a restaurant in Washington State, and we have a tip pool which I am totally happy to be a part of. However, there has been a new policy issued in which we are required to leave all of our tips with management after every shift, not just the shares that would go towards other members of the pool, and that we can only receive our tips during a small designated window of time. Is this within the guidelines of tip pools?

You can't find any law on the subject because there is none: the regulations, law, etc. don't get into the nitty-gritty detail administering, managing, etc. tips at that level. Since it is not prohibited, it is therefore allowed: as long as you end up getting the appropriate amount of tips, the employer can decidet he exact timing and process.
