Can an employer make me only work at their company?
The contract presented states that I will not be able have a second job while working there. Is this legal?

The fact is that as a general rule an employer can set the terms of employment as it sees fit. An employee can either accept these conditions or quit. The reason is that most employment relationships are is what is known as "at Will"; this gives an employer a great deal of discretion in setting work conditons. Therfore, unless not allowing you to work a second job violates a union agreement or employment contract, or constitutes some form of legally actionable discrimination, you'll have to comly with your emplyer's prohibition on not working a second job.
