1) They can't hold your pay for work you performed (e.g. hours or days worked)--regardless of what happens with your employment (e.g. regardless of whether you are suspended, terminated, etc.), they still have to pay for the work done, and if they don't, you could sue them for it.
2) They don't have to talk to you or return your call, however--their only obligation is to pay you for any work you have already done.
