Employees such as yourself are considered employees "at will." This means that you can be fired for good bad or no reason at all. It also means that the employer can move you around and change your position if he wants. by you continuing to work after the position change, you are consenting to the change. You can always quit... However, the employer is not supposed to take this action if it constitutes discrimination. In other word, a change in position and pay is not permitted if it is motivated by race, age, gender or religion. If you believe that this is the case then you need to see a lawyer to investigage.
