My 18 year old moved out of state when he turned 18 to live with my ex-wife (who has no legal claim to my son at all). Do I need to worry about this?

It is entirely possible for your "ex" to make a claim for child support payment from you with respect to your adult son who is still in high school from the facts that you have briefly listed. The reason is that under the laws of all states in this country that a parent is obligated to support his or her child until the child is 18 years of age and completes his or her senior year of high school.
