I am a lawyer that practices in this area in CT. I would need to see the documents that support the debt and the basis for garnishing your wages. Generally, your wages cannot be garnished without a judgment. As far as your credit report is cncerned, a creditor can report a delinquent payment to a credit reporting agency without a judgment. I suggest that you bring the documents to a lawyer immediately so that you can determine what the deal is as far as the lawyer garnishing your money and determining whether a judgment exists and whether it entered validily.
