Yes they can, unless such a schedule violates the terms of an employment contract or union agreement. With the exception of certain occupations (i.e. truck drivers, airline pilots, some medical personnel, etc.), there is no legal limit on the amount of hours/days in a row that a worker can be scheduled for.
