Can a co-signer’s bank account be garnished without notification?

My father co-signed on a car loan with me. My wages were being garnished until I lost my job 7 months ago. Today my parents discovered their bank account was garnished for the full amount. They received no notification and my father was never served papers. Is this legal? When I received my judgement for my garnishment by name alone was on it.

Garnishment cannot be done without leave of court. Your family needs to verify how notice was given but moreover, you all need to file a complaint with the entity who regulates this company.
