Can a company take your commision check if the store was robbed?

My employer is taking commision checks from the GM when a store is robbed. Is this legal? What is insurance for? The insurance comes out of my overhead. That is like double dipping. Also, they take the commision checks when customers don’t pay. However, wwhen a customer does eventually pay they do not reimburse the managers.

You have many a valid complaint here and you need to seek help to report your employer for their actions.  What they are doing is most definitely a violation of many, many laws.  Please seek legal help as soon as you can.  Bring all the documentation that you have available and if you can bring other employees with you there is always strength in numbers.  Good luck.
