They can't make the change without notice, though they may do so, on a forward looking or prospective basis, at any time by providing notice the change is effective from the moment of notice foward.
However, even if the company changed the pay date without notice, there is no good recourse for you lawsuits, for example, only provide compensation for actual losses or costs you incur. While having the pay date changed without notice is obviously frustrating and unfair, unless you suffered some significant and provable economic loss from it, you'd spend more money suing than you'd get back from a lawsuit.
