How long do you have to be employed by a company in order to be granted a business visa?

My partner and I have been given a job opportunity to work for a company in the U.S. What Visa should we be applying for? We are from Ireland.

Can you please elaborate on what exactly you have been offered to do with the company in the US?  Are you offered a job position for a salary within that company?  If so, then the company needs to petition you for an employment based visa in order for you to be legally able to live and work in the uS.
