bad oil in engine

I have been getting my oil changed with this company for 3 years. truck had been running ruff. as of late my engine started knocking. after numerous repairs and additives, I found out that they were putting the wrong oil in my truck. the truck says 5W20 and they were putting 5W30 which is a thicker oil. I brought this to there attention a week ago and they pushed me out the door with a ‘too Bad’ approach. took it to another place and they mentioned to me that that was the worse they have seen when I had 2000 miles to go before I needed another oil change.

You can sue the company for negligence.  Negligence is the failure to exercise due care (that degree of care that a reasonable oil change business would have exercised under the same or similar circumstances to prevent foreseeable harm).
Your damages (monetary compensation you are seeking in your lawsuit) would be the cost of repairs.
You can file your lawsuit in small claims court.  Upon prevailing in the case, you can also recover court costs which include the court filing fee and process server fee.
