What to do if I was involved in a car accident but didn’t have insurance?

It was a rear-end collision, I was going 25-30 they were going 15-20. They had a dent in their bumper and ended up driving the car off but the officers said that “It’s standard that they go in the ambulance to the hospital” so all three had to be transported. I just got the bill today from their insurance, it was $16,400. She couldn’t release any health info but said that they claimed their car salvage for $5,300. Does anyone have any helpful advice, I mean I can pay this out and work out a payment plan but do I have any other options?

Unfortunately, you do not have a lot of options.  If you did not have auto insurance at the time of the accident and the accident was your fault, your options are very limited.  Before agreeing to any dollar amount, make sure they prove every dollar they are claiming is owed such as medical bills and car repairs.  You are entitled to proof of the dollar amount they are claiming.  You may also be able to negotiate a lesser amount and settle on that.  Good luck to you.
