Armed Robbery at my place of work
On 4/27/16, my work place experienced an armed robbery in which my cell phone
and car keys were stolen from me at gun point while being pinned to the ground by
one of the perpetrators. My work place has already replaced the keys that were
stolen from me and now I am looking to see if they would replace and/or reimburse
me for a new phone. I wanted to know if they would be held liable and if they
decided not to replace/reimburse me for a new phone if I would be in the realm to
sue them.

Why would your employer be liable--was it the company's owner who robbed you? An employer is NOT liable for the criminal acts of third parties, any more than you would be liable if a friend of yours was mugged by a stranger in your driveway. Your employer has already done more than legally has to by replacing your keys; while they are free to replace your phone or offer you other compensation if they choose to, they are not required to compensate or reimburse you for another person's criminal action.
