Are verbal contracts legal no matter what was said between the 2 parties involved?

About 4 months ago, I was asked for a loan for a plane ticket. I took out a title loan on my car that day and was promised payment in full he next month. When that day came, I received nothing. I have made several attempts to contact this person but have not received any sort of response in the matter. Can I legally sue over an oral agreement we made with each other?

Under the laws of all states in this country, verbal contracts are as binding as written contracts. the problem with verbal contracts is that unless there is a third party witness to the agreement, proving such is typically harder than proving a written contract. From what you have written, it seems that you can sue over the matter in small claims court.
