apt furnished when rented, later not; who must remove furniture

When I rented apt in 1983 it was considered furnished, had sofa, bed, dresser, etc. in it. Now it’s gone thru several different owners and is not considered furnished. When I move, must I get rid of funiture or can I leave it for “owner” to get rid of? Thanks

I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law.  The owner that first rented the apartment to you owned the furniture.  As new owners acquired the property, the furniture passed with it.  You did not acquire rights to the furniture simply by living there.  As such, you do not have the right take the property no matter how long you have lived there and no matter how many owners have owned it.
