Am I liable for my late husband’s car accident that he was at fault?

My late husband was at fault for a car accident. We had full coverage but it

wasn’t enough. He died 2 months later from a different accident.

You are not personally liable. But his estate can be sued, which means that the injured party could recover compensation--i.e. get money or other assets--which would otherwise be inherited by you. Certain property that passes to you outside probate, like jointly owned real estate or joint bank accounts, should be safe from his creditors, including judgment creditors (people who sued him or who sue his estate), but there is likely some property of his which is vulnerable.
