My ex-husband is to pay alimony approximately on the 1st and 15th of each month. In the past,the longest Ive had to wait for payment is about 1 week. Within the last 3 months his payments have been getting later as long as 2 weeks late. Would it be a good idea to have an attorney write him a letter reminding him of his payment dates?

Yes, it would be a good idea. 1) Hopefully, it will show that you are serious about enforcing the alimony terms, and so get him to adhere to them without having to take legal action. 2) If he doesn't start complying and pay on time, the lawyer will already be "up to speed" on the matter and able to file a motion to enforce your rights more quickly.
