What to do if a payday company says that they made a loan of $500 to my account about 2 years ago but I looked back at my bank records and no such deposit exists?
I have no record of borrowing from a payday loan company during this time. They had some basic information on myself, which they can obtain anywhere nowadays. I looked up their phone number, which points out this number has been used in a scam. They said that they will send me to criminal court. Can this be tru, or should I take this seriously?

You would not be criminally liable unless you intended to steal (or helped someone else steal) from them. You would not even be civilly liable (e.g. subject to being sued) if you did not take out the loan. This may be a scam--you should file a police report of you own about this, and let the company know that you have filed a police report.
