If you have revealed the correct information to the agent or insurance company about the hydrant and fire department, but they offer a quote showing the hydrant and fire department are nearer, you have done the best you can do to give the correct information to the insurance company. You may purchase the policy as quoted, but I would make sure you have proof that you provided the correct information, such as a letter to the agent or company and keeping a copy for your records.
You indicate that one agent confirms the distance of the hydrant and fire department, but I presume that company is also offering a quote showing nearer protection. It seems the agent should be able to discuss this with the underwriters to try to get an accurate quote.
Finally, you should try other insurance companies to see if they can provide an accurate quote based on your fire protection. There should be a company out there who can get the information right.
