Laid-off after 20yrs, and then I was surprised that I had to continue with a whole new Table (which I never saw)at my current age. My premiums double as I felt I had to continue after 20yrs of contribution or forfeit all. Then a year & half later, I turn fifty and my premiums doubled again. They do not disclose their plan rates over the years. Now, I find out also, they will re-assess every 5 years from now on. What kind of policy is this. Had I known, I would never have bought into it in the first place. They got away by not disclosing info at the beginning, and everytime along the way!

Accidental death policy on my father. My father fell and the county medical examiner ruled it accidental death on the death certificate. We provided what a customer rep said was necessary and when we did they asked for even more info that is totally unnecessary. They are stalling in the hope that we will just quit pursuing the claim. No wonder lawyers claim insurance people are not honest.

can not pay online

They charged a $2.00 service fee without notice. Had I been given notice I could have avoided this charge by paying yearly or with monthly direct withdrawals from my bank. How can they make changes without notice? $2.00 is no big deal but with thousands of customers it adds up for them. Is this legal? I will look elsewhere in the future.

Claim was for death on a life insurance claim. 20 yr policy extended from employment of large company- we have followed all the requested processes from Minnesota Life. Minnesota life stalls fails to communicate in a timely fashion demands premiums/fees after the fact. We are notifying the employer Minnesota Life represents the MN Ins. board and the IL Ins Board. BAD COMPANY.

I had insurance on my loan for if/when I became disabled and unable to pay the loan. When it was time for them to pay they kept telling me they didn’t have enough information. They would send me new/different paperwork to fill out and deny it continuously. This company is all about taking not about paying out. DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THESE CRIMINALS

Minnesota Life sent 1/2 of the insurance benefits which I was the sole beneficiary of to another family member. When I contacted them they admitted their error and said they would correct it. The claims examiner for the account said she would overnight the check to me which she did not. I called again because I had not received the check and spoke with a very rude and poorly trained customer service representative who laughted at me and wouldn’t let me finish a sentence. They did not overnight the check saying I told them not too. This is not true. Hope to never deal with this company again.

In 2006 I became disabled. I provided Minnesota Life with the necessary documentation via certified mail. The company repeatedly claim it did not receive the documents. When provided with mailing proof the company claimed that I failed to return document it sent to me. That is not true. On a second claim I continue to have similar problems with Minnesota Life Insurance. I do not recommend this company and strongly recommend that Minnesota Life should be investigated by our justice department.

M.Life prolonged my disability claim with stupid request, so they would not have to pay. Never had a problem with any of my other insurance companies.

It took two months and 12 calls to get a copy of my policy. When I got the policy, terms had changed. I have since found a more honest company

I purchased coverage for my spouse through my employer just under 2 years ago. At that time I have filled out a evidence of insurability form and his cov was approved with having high blood pressure and high cholesterol.. He had a heart attach last March 19, 2015 and survived it. Now this year my employer offered me an additional $10,000 for him so of course I applied for it. I have now received a letter from then indicating they are recinding his previous coverage because he had a aortic aneurism in 2013 which I did not disclose… I called them and indicated that was incorrect he ha never had a aortic aneurysm so I was told they would forward me the copies of his mes records. Less than a week later I got another letter from them telling me they were wrong he never had a aortic aneurysm but they were still recinding his coverage because he has pulmonary vascular disease.. I requested the paperwork on that and wouldn’t u know the paperwork becuse he had pulmanary vascular disease in 2005 which is more than 3 backs from 2013 they sent him for a CT scan just to make sure everything was OK with his yearly physical… Which it was actually the test indicated the pulmanary vascular disease was 100% cleared up. So the only medical problem he was on medicine for was his high blood pressure and cholesterol… Which I had indicated on my paperwork in 2014 I even includes the medicines he was taking…. I am being told they only have one supervisor which is the one who continues to contradict herself and no one above her… I then called the CEO to be told that the under writers are experts and nothing anyone can do… I would love to know how an expert can misdiagnose someone just to get out of covering someone… It’s like my spouses Dr said if he didn’t have his heart attack in 2015 while he had coverage we would not be going through this…. At this point I feel this company is nothing but scams.. They don’t mind taking your money but god forbid they need to pay out…. I currently have $100,000 coverage on myself and only wonder what my love ones will have to do to cash in my policy if something happens to me… Or god forbid my cancer comes back will they decide they don’t want to cover me anymore just because I happened to get cancer?… Now no one will want to cover my spouse because of his heart attack… When this should not have to be a worry on either of us when he had the policy prior to the heart attack….

After marrying I added my husband to my insurance. We filled out all the necessary doctor paperwork and Everything was approved. When my husband passed unexpectedly from a heart attack 6 months later they kept making me send in more and more paperwork for them to review. After three months they told me that they were not going to pay his claim, when I asked why I was told that I could wait for the letter in the mail. Still waiting 2 weeks later. Had to call and request it again. Very poor customer service and looks like they use every excuse in the book to avoid paying claims

They do not give notice about rate increase on monthly payment and just go into your account and take it without you being aware until you see your bank statement.I have had this insurance since 1985 and seems you are punished for getting old. Every 5ive years the rate increase is doubled and now at 75 cannot afford to keep it So beware it is difficult at old age to replace.

Applied for life insurance through them, a month and a half ago. FINALLY was told today, after 3 QA sessions same questions and answers each time, that I was denied. I’m 28 years old, with no health problems whatsoever, applying for 100k life insurance policy. Who do they approve Don’t waste your time

I’m a State employee so I’m stuck with them. I will file a complaint with the state for their poor service. My son was killed while riding his bike over a month ago and still they have not paid the claim.

My fiance unexpectedly passed away May 21. I am beneficiary of two policies provided by MAN life through his employer. They have jerked me around for two months. Do not trust them. When they do speak to you they say one thing and do another. They do not abide by the legal contract.

My husband has a term policy with MN Life. Over the last several years we have changed our bank account a couple of times moved. Changing the account info for the monthly debit has been ridiculously difficult. When there is a question about the info on the form, rather than pick up the phone to call, they take an extra couple of weeks to mail a letter about the problem which delays the deduction then eventually we get a threatening letter saying that we are 2 months behind on our payments… We are moving again soon. I can only imagine another paperwork nightmare may happen. I’ve had to change a few dozen other accounts for bank account moving reasons NOT ONE of the other accounts even blinked about the change. I really don’t recommend MN Life because of the paperworkadministrative hassles. For many reasons, I hope my husband outlives this policy, including the fact that I will have to once again be in touch with this company.

They are never satisfied with the papers they have your physician complete in hopes you will give up.

Trying to get cost information from them is terrible, they will send you 30 page illustration with charts and grafts leaving it up to you to find some information. It would take an accountant several days to make heads or tails from the information they send you. When you ask them a simple question, they will tell you they can’t answer on the phone or in writing, just say they cannot do it. If they will not answer a simple question about your policy, do you want a policy from this company, I sure don’t

They will find reasons to not renew your policy and not notify you about it. Horrible customer service and I wouldnt trust them to pay out if I had a claim. Dont use them

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY I was sold a variable life insurance policy as a single female with no kids as a tax shelter by my former financial advisor. I have spent the last 3 years trying to find a way out of it. It has been the biggest nightmare of my financial life and the biggest financial rape I have ever experienced. Just to give you a small example as I still have not gotten out of it yet I found way to transfer my funds to an annuity without taking tax penalty or surrender costs. It took me several months working with a new advisor to decide which policy to transfer to. My new advisor was on the phone helping me stop my premium payments until I decided to transfer. MN life said sure no problem they then sent me an inconspicuous bill for 8500 saying I owed that much in premium. I found out today, they actually took out a loan against my policy to pay their bill because I hadn’t paid it. IN my eyes and my financial advisor, we had called to stop premium payments This loan now generates a taxable event. They claimed I just asked to stop automatic withdrawals from my bank, if I want to reduce the monthly premium to 0 there is different paperwork to fill out….
