Insurance Question from Rocky Mount, NC

Asked on 09/28/2011

Is a starting request of 15k fair in a rear end collision with neck , shoulder and back injuries. I was in rear end collision on the 7th and sustained whiplash injuries and currently taking meds for soreness in my back. X-rays were taken and thankfully no spinal damage. In NC the required coverage is 30/60/25.

Answer given on September 29, 2011

I would not settle this claim until your soreness has subsided and you are finished with your meds. This is because you could need more treatment or have additional lost time from work. You have not stated what the total amounts of your medical bills were or what the property damage amount was to your vehicle. Therefore, I am unable to determine if this offer would be in a fair range. If you are determined to settle this claim on your own, read up on click here .
