When you lost your Rolex watch and reported it to the insurance company and they paid you for the value of the watch, the watch would now belong to your insurance company. Even though you could use the money, if you try to sell the watch and it is traced back to you, you could be facing a fraud charge and the insurance company could cancel you as well as criminal charges being filed against you.You should call your insurance company and tell them you found the watch. They will not ask you for your money back, but will probably ask for the watch to be returned so they can possibly sell it to recoup the money they paid to you. It is possible they will not want the watch back, due to the time involved since it was originally reported lost and now. However, you should tell them you found it and let them decide how to proceed.
