I have a disability policy. The premiums have always been paid on time auto deducted from bank account. I’ve had the policy since 1995. So, for 23 years. Premium total to date, around 2500. I have never put in a claim until now just having surgery that is going to keep me out of work for about 2 months. Got nothing but run around on the phone for anyone to even claim that they found me in the system and was told paperwork would be sent right out. It’s been weeks and nothing. The claim for the length of time I would be out of work is not for much. This company’s payout would only be 649.31. Because I originally took this policy out to cover my mortgage payment in case I became disabled. Boy, do I feel scammed.

Our company has purchased LTD insurance for all employees. What a mistake…..poor service, runaround when you need help and it seems that the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing. Very unfortunate, because LTD isn’t being used when a person is having the best time of their life.

After paying into life insurance with Dearborn for years, one of our employees died of a heart attack. It has been almost 2 months and all we’ve gotten is the run around on the phone. Website is disfunctional and we’ve been unable to get anyone to do anything at all, not even recognize and start the claim although they acknowledge that they have all the paperwork. Looking at litigation, I guess. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY

My employer uses this company for long term and short term disability. I had my son Dec of 2019 and still have not received my disability pay. They have continue to give the office manager and myself the run around saying we have not sent in all the paperwork which we have. One minute they need more info and the next they do notwhich we have not sent any additional than the first time we gave them the paperwork before I left for leave. Their employee Monica has called my personal phone asking for info that has already been given to her by my works manager and her response is o yes I have that in my notes here. Either she needs more training on her job or they need to find someone new. This is peoples lively hood and we do not have time for people to not do their job right. My son will be turning 7 weeks this friday and still have not received my disability, which right after the 8 weeks mark will I return back to work. My advice use somebody else they do not care at all, drag their feet, and on top of this I never leave a review especially one like this.

My father recently passed away and he had a life insurance policy with Dearborn and other companies. Dearborn is the ONLY company that we have had trouble with. Their Request for Payment of Death Benefit form seems very unethical. The form asks to list all other insurance on the life of the insured, which is none of their business.Another questionWhen did Health of Insured first begin to be affected But the kicker for me was they won’t pay out unless I send the ORIGINAL policy back to them. I sent in a copy, as I and my lawyer thought it would NOT be wise to give them back the original copy before payment. I’ve talked with 3 people there, one being a supervisor who says they have to have the original, or I have to initial the form saying the policy has been lost or destroyed. Seems unethical that I have to LIE on a form so they will pay up None of the other life insurance companies asked for the original copy to be mailed back to them.Also, at the bottom of the form where you sign and give them your address for payment, you are actually signing permission to give any doc, hospital, etc to give a rep from Dearborn full details as to treatment, diagnosis and past medical history. Keep in mind this is a DEATH BENEFIT form. I’m completely baffled by all of this. All that was required for the other life insurance companies was a death certificate. I’m VERY unhappy with this company.

If you have this insurance company I feel sorry for you. You file a claim and send in the request paperwork and they claim not to receive it. Send it in again same thing they claim they didn’t receive it. They will jerk you around like this for months. If you have to deal with this company get a lawyer from the start.
