Company History: Founded in Rhode Island in 1907, the company opened its first branch office in 1941 then proceeded to add homeowners’ insurance in 1956 and marine and personal excess liability insurance some years later. The company moved its headquarters to Lincoln in 1994. Amica has over 3,200 employees and 43 offices nationwide. The company is the oldest mutual insurer of automobiles in the U.S.
Principle Sales Methods: Amica is a direct writer of auto, home, and life insurance products. They are organized into regional offices spread throughout the United States.

Life Annuity Business: Amica offers Level Term, Simplified Issue Level Term, Whole Life, Simplified Issue, and Annual Renewable life insurance. Amica has been listed on Ward’s Top 50 list for life-health insurance companies in 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013.
Auto Business: Amica offers a variety of Auto coverage options and a multi-line discount.
Homeowners Business: Amica offers flexible policies for homeowners insurance. They also offer alarm systems, claim-free policies, and discounts for higher deductibles.
Health Business: Long-term Care, Disability Income, and Health care insurance are offered through the Amica General Agency. However, the policies are underwritten by John Hancock Life Insurance, MassMutual Financial Group, and Golden Rule Insurance.
Special Business: Amica offers Condo, Renters, Retirement, Marine, Umbrella, Structured Settlement, and Small Business Insurance.
