Corporate Officers:

Gerry H. Goldsholle, Founder and CEO

Gerry Goldsholle is Advice Company’s founder and Chief Executive Officer.

Prior to forming Advice Company in 1991, Gerry was Chief Brokerage Officer of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and President & CEO of MetLife Marketing Corporation. During his 20-year plus career at MetLife he created and headed two multi-billion dollar insurance ventures and also served as MetLife’s Vice President for Corporate Planning and Development, head of its Investment and Fiduciary Services unit, an officer of its property / casualty and reinsurance companies, a member of the Board of Directors of numerous subsidiaries, and as an Assistant General Counsel. He began his career as a trial lawyer at the Securities and Exchange Commission after serving as a first lieutenant with the Army Security Agency and several years of law practice with a top rated New York law firm.

Gerry graduated with honors from the College of William and Mary and from Columbia Law School, completed the Stanford Business School’s Executive Program and the coursework for a Master of Liberal Arts at Stanford University. He is a member of the bars of California, New York, and the Supreme Court of the United States. He has chaired the Insurance Committee of the American Bar Association’s Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice Section, the Group Insurance Programs Committee of the State Bar of California and the New York City Bar Association’s Administrative Law Committee, and held many other Bar leadership positions in such fields as Government Ethics, Professional Responsibility, Government Regulation, and Securities Law. He has spoken extensively on legal and business topics throughout the United States, England and Canada, has testified as an expert before committees of the United States Senate and House of Representatives and served as an expert for the US Department of Justice, the IRS and the Securities and Exchange Commission. His has also been President of the Stanford Business School Alumni Association’s San Francisco Chapter, and is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board of the School of Business and Management of the University of San Francisco and the Board of Directors of Marin Theatre Company.

Michael Shanahan – Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer

Michael Shanahan joined Advice Company in 2000 as its Chief Technology Officer and was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2003 and became Chief Operating Officer that same year. He is primarily responsible for all aspects of the state of the art technology used for the Company’s websites and new technology initiatives. Prior to joining Advice Company he had been a college instructor, and Director of Internet Development, and Vice-President of Curriculum Development of a leading Internet-based medical education firm. He is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Rochester, and also studied at Albany Medical College and Stanford University.

Brandon Brown – Vice President—Internet Marketing

Brandon holds a degree in geology and environmental engineering from Lehigh University and after work with the Army Corps of Engineers joined Advice Company in 1999 in sales and marketing and became a proficient technical executive before moving to Washington, DC in 2002, to become the search engine optimization specialist for a leading hotel marketing firm. He rejoined Advice Company as a consultant in 2005.

Brian Brown – Vice President—FreeAdvice.com

Brian Brown joined Advice Company in 1996, and has played numerous roles, from sales, marketing programs, administration and strategic alliances and working with the Company’s former affiliate DoItYourself.com Incorporated. Prior to joining Advice Company he worked for the law firm of Day, Berry & Howard in Connecticut as a project manager. Brown also has done production work for ESPN International and was a professional soccer player with the Cape Cod Crusaders. He earned his BA at the University of Pennsylvania.

Mary Martin – Vice-President—Content & Secretary

Mary Martin joined Advice Company in 1997 as Executive Editor and head of Staff Operations. She is responsible for developing, sourcing and editing legal content for the Company’s legally oriented websites. In addition to managing content flow and outside authors, she is responsible for internal staff operations. Prior to joining Advice Company she had a 29-year career as executive editor, manager of practice systems software development, and a corporate officer at legal publisher Commerce Clearing House. She earned a BA from Dominican College.

Joel Wagonfeld, Member, Board of Directors

Mr. Wagonfeld is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Stanford University and also holds an MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business. Joel previously was a nationally recognized e-commerce and technology industry analyst, and frequent television commentator, serving with Bank of America Securities and First Albany Securities. He also served as a Senior Consultant at Cambridge Associates, a leading international investment consulting, performance reporting, and research analysis firm and is currently serving as an independent consultant to the Company and other firms.

M. Lauck Walton, Member, Board of Directors

Mr. Walton retired as a partner of the Donovan Leisure Newton & Irvine law firm in New York City, and later served as Associate General Counsel of the Federal Deposit Insurance Company in Washington, DC. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia Law School, and has held numerous leadership positions including service on several boards of directors as well as elective office in Shenandoah County, Virginia.

Director Emeritus — Steve Bow, former Chairman of the Board

Steve Bow served as non-executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Advice Company from 2005-2007, and formerly chaired its predecessor Advisory Board. A nationally known business leader, Mr. Bow was previously President and CEO of Blue Cross of Kentucky where he doubled the company’s net worth in four years, merging it into the Indiana Blue Cross to create the Anthem Insurance Companies, now known as Wellpoint, one of the nation’s largest health and hospital insurers. Mr. Bow also has been CEO of Blue Shield of Kentucky, CEO of Delta Dental of Kentucky, and President & CEO of Anthem Life Insurance Company, President & CEO of Capital Holding Corporation (renamed Providian and later sold to Aegon). For many years he also was an executive of Metropolitan Life, including Senior Vice President in charge of all MetLife’s operations in the Western, Central and Mid-Western regions of the United States.

Throughout his career Steve has served on more than 30 company, university, and nonprofit boards and has been is the recipient of numerous awards and honors. Mr. Bow holds degrees from Berea College and the American College, and also completed Columbia University’s Executive Program in Business Administration.

Director Emeritus — Gary L. Goldsholle, former Director

Gary Goldsholle served on the Board of Directors from 2005 until his resignation in August, 2012. At the time of resignation, he served as a Vice-President and Associate General Counsel for regulatory policy at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), the largest non-governmental regulator for all securities firms doing business in the United States, based in Washington, D.C. FINRA is a successor to the combined regulatory arms of the National Association of Securities Dealers and the New York Stock Exchange. Gary is a cum laude graduate of Duke University, and also attended the London School of Economics, and earned his law degree from the University of Chicago’s Law School. A frequent speaker at legal and financial conferences, he is a member of the California and District of Columbia Bars, and is a former chair of the Corporate and Securities Law Committee of the District of Columbia Bar Association.

Suzanne Gallagher von Lengerke — President of Advice Publications, LLC, Editor-in-Chief, Advice & Counsel Newsletter™

Suzanne earned a BA in Economics from Georgetown University and also earned her MBA in Finance, summa cum laude, from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Before joining the Company to initiate the Advice & Counsel Newsletter in 1995, she had served as President of Medical Second Opinion, Inc. which publishes several successful medically oriented newsletters. She began her career as an equity trader for a Xerox subsidiary, and was a senior consultant for Alliance Capital Management.
