What to do if the microwave wasn’t installed properlyand this was done before we bought the house?
The house was built 12 years ago and the microwave was installed 7 years ago. We bought the house 6 years ago. The microwave wasn’t vented properly so whenever we used the vent to blow smoke from the pan or where something burned it didn’t take it out. Instead it blew it through the house which caused dark outlines of the wood frames on the ceiling and walls. Has the statue of limitations run out and, if not, what type of lawyer do we need?

It is very doubtful you could sue. The potentially applicable statutes of limitation--damage or injury to personal proeprty; breach of contract; fraud--are all only three years, so if you bought the house 6 years ago, and the microwave was installed 7 years ago, any claims against installer or homeowner would have expired.
