IfI’ve been occupying my apartment for 17 months and have been allowed to smoke, can management now make the premises non-smoking?

I live on a month-to-month rental agreement since the original 12 month lease expired. Management says now, no smoking on the premises.

The terms of the original lease most likely apply to items such as smoking..
